Information for Residential Residents

  • Staff caring for you have received education and information on COVID-19 and the precautions required to keep themselves and you safe.

  • We will continue to support you in maintaining contact with your family and friends both within the facility and in the wider community.
  • We ask that you maintain appropriate distancing measures and practice good hygiene practices to keep yourself, and others, healthy.

Information for Visitors

  • Staff working at Adria Village have received education and information on COVID-19 and the precautions required to keep themselves, the residents and visitors safe.
  • We will continue to support Residents in maintaining contact with family and friends both within the facility and in the wider community.
  • If you do visit, you will be asked screening questions and are required to have your temperature taken prior to entering the building.
  • Some people cannot visit a residential aged care facility under any circumstances:
  • Visitors who have returned from overseas in the last 14 days
  • Visitors who have been in contact with someone confirmed to have COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • Visitors with a fever (37.5°C or above) or symptoms of a respiratory illness (cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath)
  • Children 16 years and under, except in special circumstances and with the approval of the General Manager
  • From 1 May 2020, you must have your influenza vaccination in order to visit and are required to provide appropriate evidence to the facility that you have received the vaccination.
  • During your visit, we ask that you:
    • Maintain appropriate distancing measures,
    • Practice good hygiene practices including washing your hands/using hand sanitiser, covering your sneeze or cough with a tissue or into your elbow and washing hands immediately.
    • Limiting visits to 2 hours;
    • Limiting visits to a maximum of two people, once per day – this includes family, friends, professional service staff, or advocacy staff
    • Visits should be conducted in a resident’s room, outdoors, or in a specific area designated by the aged care facility, rather than communal areas where the risk of transmission to residents is greater;
    • No large group visits or gatherings, including social activities or entertainment, should be permitted at this time.
  • If you don’t absolutely have to go to support a resident in care, please don’t. It’s best to keep in touch by:
    • Phone calls
    • Video calls
    • Sending a postcard
    • Sharing photos, artwork, or short home videos
    • Using our Window of Comfort

Information for Staff

  • Staff working at Adria Village are required to attend education and information sessions on COVID-19 and the precautions required to keep themselves, the residents and visitors safe.
  • Support Residents in maintaining contact with family and friends both within the facility and in the wider community.
  • Ensure you answer the screening questions and have your temperature taken prior to entering the building every shift. You cannot work if:
  • Some people cannot visit a residential aged care facility under any circumstances:
  • You have returned from overseas in the last 14 days
  • You have been in contact with someone confirmed to have COVID-19 in the last 14 days
  • You have a fever (37.5°C or above) or symptoms of a respiratory illness (cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath)
  • From 1 May 2020, you must have your influenza vaccination in order to work and are required to provide appropriate evidence to the management that you have received the vaccination.
  • Ensure visitors comply with the entry screening requirements and restrictions on visitations to residents
  • Screen new and returning residents before entry
  • Be aware of and when required, explain the steps Adria is taking to protect residents’, staff and visitor health

Information for ILU Residents

The Prime Minister gave the following STRONG advice to Senior Australians:

  • People 70 years of age or older should stay at home and self-isolate as much as possible for their own protection
  • People 60 years of age or older with a chronic illness should stay at home and self-isolate
  • Indigenous people aged 50 years of age or older should stay at home and self-isolate
  • Group gatherings – reduced from ten people to two people. However, people of the same household may go out together
  • Stay home except for:
    • shopping for essential supplies
    • medical care or compassionate needs
    • exercise
    • work and education – if you cannot work or learn remotely
  • Home maintenance – Essential maintenance will still be available. Please phone 6288 0198. Please note, contractors are screened and sign a health declaration at each visit.
  • Meal delivery – You can order a food delivery from the residential care facility
